What is St. Joseph's Young Priests Society?

It is a Society of lay people, which was established in Ireland in 1895 by Mrs. Olivia Taaffe. It is approved by the Irish Episcopal Conference.

As a lay association, the initiative to form a branch comes from a small group of committed Christians. Branches normally meet on a monthly basis to pray together and to organise Society activities in their own community such as prayer vigils, pilgrimages, seminars and retreats. Branches are encouraged to co-operate with parish clergy in initiatives to promote a greater awareness and understanding of the life and ministry of priests.
